Important: simpleERB has recently made changes to the payment process. We received feedback that some customers were abusing the old process where the payment rule for the booking was not enforced, leaving some customers not making the payment or supplying a card prior to the booking date. See the new enforced process for bookings outlined further in the article. For information about how to monitor existing bookings with a payment rule, please click here.
Customers who book online via your simpleERB widget can also be charged for payments or card capture on bookings to assist with decreasing the amount of 'no shows'.
All you need to do is once you have set up the Stripe integration, is ensure you have your booking payments/card capture rules in place. You can set up these rules here within your account and you can find more information on how to do this here.
When the customer then books online via the widget, if a payment/card capture is required for their requested booking date/time, they will be alerted in the blue comment box of the payment requirements. Please see example image below.
After the customer completes the booking details and clicks 'continue', before confirming the booking they will need to tick the booking condition boxes to advise they understand the booking is 'provisional until payment is made' and that they accept your terms and conditions of booking. You can see the tick-able boxes in the below image example.
Once the customer confirms and ticks all boxes, they will They will be directed to your payment gateway provider, as per example below, Stripe, to securely supply either card details or to make the payment.
*We currently integrate with the following payment providers to securely process and manage the payment process; Stripe, RMS and takepayments. Please be aware that the payment provider will charge you a transaction service fee on all payments processed.
